University Research Park
 
The University Research Park, located on 143 acres of prime University of Louisiana at Lafayette property, is designed to provide a bold new research and business environment for emerging and established companies alike.  The University Research Park includes laboratories, offices and facilities for basic and applied research, testing and consulting; specialized facilities such as an immersive visualization complex and a technology incubator; and a fully equipped Hilton Garden Inn that includes an educational training facility for University students.

University Research Park is owned by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and has as its primary purposes: providing an exceptional environment for teaching and research; promoting University research and development in partnership with industry and government; assisting in the growth of new ventures; promoting economic development; aiding in the transfer of technology and skills from the University to industry and government tenants.

National Wetlands Research Center (owned and operated by U.S. Geological Survey)
   
  The mission of the National Wetlands Research Center (NWRC) is to provide national leadership in biological research and development related to protecting, restoring, and managing natural resources, with an emphasis on fish, wildlife, and wetlands in the South.  Currently the NWRC focuses on wetland, forest, and animal ecology; spatial analysis; and information and technology transfer.  This facility opened in 1992.
 
Estuarine Habitats and Coastal Fisheries Center (owned by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration)

Lafayette Economic Development Authority Office Complex
 
  Created by the state legislature and funded by a parish property tax, LEDA exists to facilitate economic growth in Lafayette Parish. LEDA is governed by a Board of 12 commissioners appointed by various governmental and educational entities that work together with the full-time staff to provide answers, information and assistance to businesses.

LEDA's mission is to provide assistance to local companies in their growth, market development and workforce development efforts; to recruit additional companies considering locating in this area; and to assist in the development of new companies in order to diversify the economy within Lafayette Parish.
 
Lafayette Primary Care Center
 
  This facility is a cooperative effort among Lafayette General Medical Center, Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, LSU Medical Center, University Medical Center, and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.  Construction of the facility, which is owned by the University, was paid for by Lafayette General Medical Center and Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.  The facility is operated by LSU Medical Center.  Its purpose is for training medical residents in family practice.
 
University Research Park Hotel
 
  The 155-room Hilton Garden Inn opened in January 2006.  The hotel includes both classroom and faculty office accommodations and operates in collaboration with the UL Lafayette Hospitality Management Program.
 
Louisiana Immersive Technologies Enterprise (LITE)
 
  Located in the Research Park of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, the $27 million, 70,000 square foot LITE complex is one of the most comprehensive and tightly integrated data visualization and supercomputing installations in the world. The unique collaboration between the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and the Lafayette Economic Development Authority (LEDA) makes LITE a one-of-a-kind facility that connects the most creative and dynamic academic minds with the most innovative and forward-looking industry visionaries. The LITE center hosts commercial businesses and researchers who require large scale collaborative environments for research, application development, testing and validation, product development, commercial production and high performance computer modeling powered by the fastest most comprehensive supercomputing and 3D immersive visualization systems and massive data storage capabilities available today. LITE is a hub for advanced research activities and high-performance computing connected to the Louisiana Optical Network Initiative (LONI) infrastructure.
 
Center for Child Development (future tenant, currently housed on the main campus in OK Allen Hall)
 
  Advances the impact of scientific knowledge upon public policy in the area of child development including psycho-social and biological risk factors for developmental disabilities and secondary conditions. The Center fosters system development for Louisiana and the Southeastern United States, provides scientifically sound research and evaluation information through education, training and outreach activities, and makes public policy recommendations based on research and outcome data.
